Resources for the Indigenous Australian community of NSW
The Information and Privacy Commission NSW aims to ensure that its services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are accessible, relevant and useful by:
- Promoting and enforcing the information access and privacy rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;
- Demonstrating recognition and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and people; and,
- Supporting the implementation of the NSW Aboriginal Affairs’ OCHRE plan and the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We will also provide assistance to agencies to help them in managing information and privacy rights for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and continue to strengthen partnerships with Indigenous Australian governing bodies, organisations, groups and individuals.
