NSW public sector agency senior leaders and practitioners are warmly invited to attend this thought leadership event hosted by the Privacy Commissioner, Samantha Gavel, as part of Privacy Awareness Week 2018 (7-13 May).

This year's theme is Privacy in the Digital Age, recognising the fact that new technology offers both opportunities and challenges as the ever changing landscape we're operating in is making it faster and easier for information to be collected, analysed and shared.

The event promises to be thought provoking and topical, with a mix of panellists from government, media and the private sector.

The event will be opened by the NSW Attorney General, The Hon. Mark Speakman SC, and master of ceremonies will be Melanie Marks, President of iappANZ.

Introducing our panellists:

  • Tom Daemen – Director, Corporate, External and Legal Affairs, Microsoft Australia
  • Samantha Gavel – Privacy Commissioner, Information and Privacy Commission NSW
  • Peter Leonard – Principal, Data Synergies; Consultant, Gilbert + Tobin Lawyers
  • Dr Maria Milosavljevic – Government Chief Information Security Officer, Department of Finance, Services and Innovation
