Privacy Reports and Investigations

The NSW Privacy Commissioner deals with privacy complaints, oversees privacy complaint handling by the New South Wales public sector, assists the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) in their judicial review of public sector privacy complaints, and reports on the investigation of privacy complaints and broad systemic privacy issues.

These functions extend to matters about health privacy, which include dealing with complaints concerning the private sector handling of health information in New South Wales.

The Privacy Commissioner also makes submissions and is the spokesperson for privacy concerns and developments at a State, Federal and International level.

The IPC publishes submissions, reports into investigations and privacy case law.

Investigations

The Privacy Commissioner has the power to formally investigate certain privacy complaints and to investigate and report on general issues concerning your rights to privacy.

The Privacy Commissioner may prepare and publish reports about any matter in the interests of your rights to privacy.
