IPC supports Harmony Day 2015
Harmony Day is celebrated every year on 21 March to coincide with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This year marks the 15th anniversary to celebrate Australia’s diversity – a day of cultural respect for all Australians. This year the message for Harmony Day is “everyone belongs”.
“With 45 per cent of Australians born overseas it is with great respect and importance that we have days such as Harmony Day to celebrate and embrace our cultural diversity”, said Elizabeth Tydd, Information Commissioner.
“This is an opportunity to thank all of the communities and people of Australia who are striving together to a better shared future and live the “everyone belongs” message each day”, said Ms Tydd.
