The IPC supports National Reconciliation Week 27 May – 3 June 2020
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is held annually from 27 May to 3 June and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
In 2020 Reconciliation Australia marks 20 years of shaping Australia’s journey towards a more just, equitable and reconciled nation. The theme for this year’s NRW is In This Together. Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
At the Information and Privacy Commission NSW we are committed to working with our diverse stakeholders, including indigenous Australians, to champion the right to access government information and protect privacy. You can read more about this in the IPC’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan 2017 – 2020.
