The IPC celebrates National Law Week 18–24 May 2020

The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) is proud to celebrate and support National Law Week 18–24 May 2020.

National Law Week is an annual event that promotes public understanding of the law and its role in society. During the week, law programs are developed across Australia to include people from diverse backgrounds, organisations and perspectives. While the program changes each year, activities and events typically include activities for school students, NSW Young Lawyers Golden Gavel Competition and community activities organised by local councils and Regional Law Societies across NSW.

The Information and Privacy Commission NSW is committed to increasing awareness and understanding of legal rights, protections, and obligations under NSW information and privacy legislation for both NSW citizens and public sector agencies. Please visit the IPC website for Information Access and Privacy resources or contact us if you have any questions.

The IPC is also celebrating Information Awareness Month (IAM) this May, which brings together various bodies within the records, archives, library, knowledge, information and data management communities with an aim to increase public awareness of information and its place in all aspects of our day-to-day lives. The 2020 theme for IAM is ‘Eyes on Information’. Find out more on the IAM news page.
