Renewed public interest directions - Youth on Track
The A/NSW Privacy Commissioner has renewed the Youth on Track public interest directions made under section 41 of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act) and section 62 of the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (HRIP Act).
- The Public Interest Direction is made under s41 of the PPIP Act applies to NSW public sector agencies and non-government organisations participating in the Youth on Track Scheme in order to provide case management services to young people. It was renewed on 23 December 2016 and will expire on 30 June 2017.
- The Health Public Interest Direction is made under s62 of the HRIP Act applies to NSW public sector agencies and non-government organisations participating in the Youth on Track scheme in order to provide case management services to young people. It was renewed on 23 December 2016 and will expire on 30 June 2017.
The A/NSW Privacy Commissioner has maintained the status quo in the Public Interest Directions to allow agencies to continue exercising their functions.
