NSW Privacy Commissioner publishes new resource to assist the public to understand their review rights under the PPIP Act
The NSW Privacy Commissioner has published a new fact sheet to provide guidance to the public about their review rights under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act).
Please click below to be directly linked to the new resource:
The fact sheet, developed in consultation with our stakeholders, aims to inform applicants about:
- the internal review process;
- the role of the NSW Privacy Commissioner in the internal review process; and
- the right of review at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
NSW public sector agencies will also be able to use the fact sheet to accompany their decisions and provide greater information about the internal review process and next steps that an applicant can take if they are dissatisfied with the outcome from their internal review.
