The IPC supports NAIDOC Week, 3 – 10 July 2022
The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) supports NAIDOC Week, which celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.
NAIDOC originally stood for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’. This committee was once responsible for organising national activities during the week and its acronym has since become the name of the week itself.
This year NAIDOC Week takes place on 3 – 10 July 2022 and the theme is Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!. The theme encourages a genuine commitment by all of us to Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! and support and secure institutional, structural, collaborative, and cooperative reforms.
