The IPC supports International Day of Persons with Disabilities 3 December 2021
The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) supports the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 3 December 2021.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities aims to promote the rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities in society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. This year’s theme is ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world’.
The IPC supports accessibility and inclusion, and includes ReadSpeaker on the IPC website, which allows you to access information in audio form. The IPC also supports the exercise of privacy and information access rights of persons with a disability, for example, through:
- the guide for NSW public sector agencies that handle personal information about adults with reduced decision-making abilities
- the IPC’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan which outlines how the IPC seeks to improve the way it communicates with, and delivers services to, the diverse communities of NSW.
