The IPC supports Global Accessibility Awareness Day 21 May 2020
The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) is proud to support Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).
This year the event is celebrated on 21 May and it marks the ninth Global Accessibility Awareness Day. The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital (web, software, mobile, etc.) access/inclusion and about people with different disabilities.
GAAD also seeks to assist people with creating new technology, websites or digital documents to ensure that the needs of those with disabilities have been taken into consideration.
The IPC highly values the inclusion of people with different disabilities, offering accessibility on our website which conforms to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 for all users. This includes:
the audio ReadSpeaker service
- accessible font types and sizing, and
- additional accessibility via downloadable PDF versions of our standard HTML page content.
