The IPC supports Data Privacy Day 28 January 2021
The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) supports Day Privacy Day 2021, observed annually on 28 January.
Data Privacy Day promotes awareness about the importance of privacy, highlights easy ways to protect personal information and reminds organisations that privacy is good for business.
This year’s focus for citizens is to Own Your Privacy. You can go here for some privacy tips for citizens, and here for information about your rights under NSW privacy legislation.
The focus for agencies is Respect Privacy, encouraging agencies to protect the data they collect. You can read more about protecting citizens’ information under NSW privacy laws here.
Hear from the NSW Privacy Commissioner Samantha Gavel on the importance of managing your data and safeguarding privacy in the video below and learn more about Data Privacy Day here.
