The IPC is proud to celebrate National Reconciliation Week 27 May – 3 June

National Reconciliation Week (NRW), held annually from 27 May to 3 June, is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The 2019 NRW theme is Grounded in Truth, Walk Together with Courage.  At the heart of reconciliation is the relationship between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To foster positive race relations, our relationship must be grounded in a foundation of truth.

The IPC has a commitment to working with its diverse stakeholders, including indigenous Australians, to champion the right to access government information and protect privacy. This is outlined in the IPC’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan 2017 – 2020.
