The IPC celebrates National Law Week 13 – 19 May
The IPC is proud to celebrate and support National Law Week (NLW) 13 – 19 May 2019.
NLW is an annual festival of events designed to create a better understanding of the critical role law and justice plays in our society. Throughout the week participating organisations and groups host events that help simplify legal processes and concepts – with activities including mock trials, behind-the-scenes tours, expert info sessions and panel forums.
The IPC is committed to increasing awareness and understanding of legal rights, protections, and obligations under NSW information and privacy legislation for both NSW citizens and public sector agencies. To assist with this we have many resources available here on our website under our Information Access and Privacy menus above. You can also contact us for further assistance.
The IPC is also hosting its 9th annual Privacy Awareness Week NSW campaign during this week, following 20 years of NSW privacy legislation. With the theme Privacy in NSW – the next 20 years: Protection, Consent and Digital Government, this year’s campaign focuses on the current and emerging privacy challenges that arise from our ever increasing digital society.
