Harmony Day 2018

Harmony Day is celebrated every year on 21 March to coincide with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It is a day for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common.

The central message for Harmony Day is that ‘everyone belongs’, reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness to all Australians.

“85 per cent of Australians agree multiculturalism has been good for Australia and we at the Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) are proud to celebrate Harmony Day, which provides an opportunity for us to make our workplace even stronger,” said Elizabeth Tydd, IPC CEO/ Information Commissioner.

“Which is why I was pleased to release the IPC Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan last month in the lead up to Harmony Day. It is our Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan that underpins our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in all that we do.”
