Connect, Reflect, Protect this Safer Internet Day 11 February 2025

We use the internet in almost every aspect of our lives, so it’s important to understand the risks, design and develop products with user safety in mind, and promote online safety to our users. This is why we’re joining the Australian eSafety Commissioner on Tuesday 11 February to support Safer Internet Day.

We rely on the internet for almost everything in our lives, so online safety is more important than ever.

As technology is constantly advancing, while there are many benefits, individuals are often exposed to risks with real-world impacts.

We encourage you to get involved and reflect on Safety by Design principles when designing and developing online spaces. By prioritising Safety by Design, we can work towards making every day a Safer Internet Day.

For NSW agencies, it is imperative that they create, develop, and maintain trust in their digital service delivery. The basics of protecting privacy rely on implementing robust privacy protections to ensure that digital systems and services are safe. For new projects, agencies can lay a secure privacy foundation by taking a privacy-by-design approach to identify risks and build in mitigations during all stages of the project.

The IPC has a range of community resources available to assist parents and carers, teens, kids and teachers in protecting privacy and Play It Fair Online.
