Australia to join Open Government Partnership
The IPC has welcomed today's announcement by the Commonwealth Attorney-General that Australia will join the Open Government Partnership (OGP).
The OGP aims to secure commitments from governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
The partnership includes almost 60 other countries, such as the United States, South Korea, Spain and Argentina.
Australian Information Commissioner Professor John McMillan has also welcomed the announcement in a media statement (link no longer available) released today.
