Solomon Lecture 2017

As part of the Right to Know Week (25 September – 1 October) theme of Open and accountable government and the media’s role, Queensland’s annual Solomon Lecture will be the centrepiece of the campaign. The lecture will be live-streamed on Right to Know Day on 28 September.

Queensland’s Office of the Information Commissioner will host one of Australia’s most distinguished and respected journalists, Mr Kerry O’Brien, who is set to deliver this year’s lecture. His lecture will draw from the 30th anniversary of Queensland's Fitzgerald Inquiry. Key themes will include the right to access government-held information, the media’s role in keeping the community informed about government decisions, and the impact on trust.
