Data Privacy Day (DPD) is celebrated internationally on 28 January every year. It is an international effort centred on 'Respecting Privacy, Safeguarding Data and Enabling Trust'.

It aims to raise awareness and educate consumers to better understand how their personal information may be collected and the benefits and risks of sharing personal data.

It encourages the community to actively manage their online lives and consider privacy implications of their online activities, for themselves and for others. It encourages businesses and organisations to be open about how and why they collect and use personal information and promote their commitment to protecting privacy and security.
