Complaints about an agency's conduct

One of the key roles of the Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) is to review NSW public sector agency performance and decisions about access to information.

GIPA reviews

If you have asked for an application and you are dissatisfied with the decision, you can ask for a review.

GIPA compliance reports

The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) monitors NSW agencies' compliance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act).

We will periodically publish compliance reports evaluating agencies' compliance with the GIPA Act.

GIPA review reports

The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) publishes external review reports to assist agencies to comply with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act).

Applying the law

Under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act), all government agencies must release information unless there is an overriding public interest against doing so.
