Alleged privacy breach by a business, private company or NGO

The office of the Australian Privacy Commissioner administers the Federal Privacy Act 1988 which regulates how large private sector companies, Federal government agencies and some non-government organisations (NGOs) collect, store, use and disclose personal and health information.
